ok so my current pillow is basically a brick and my neck is not a fan anymore. I’ve been eyeing the SofGlowly thin flat pillow, and I’m wondering if I need something that thin to make my neck happy. I sleep on my side.
the 1.75 inch height is really for people who already sleep super low and are just fine with that. probably really only back-sleepers. you’re a side sleeper coming off a pillow you basically call a brick, so that is a massive drop in height all at once. I’d expect your neck to be doing the wrong kind of bending by morning. wouldn’t recommend it for what you’re trying to fix. you want a softer pillow but still enough to fit your neck for a side-sleeper.
not a fan at all, honestly. Wouldn’t recommend.
i was eyeing one of these myself but i read a bunch of the reviews and a lot of folks said the foam just does not give enough. like, it’s sold as all this soft contouring comfort, but several people ended up with something that feels basically as unyielding as the pillow they were trying to move away from. for a side sleeper already dealing with a brick, that combo of barely any height on top of a foam that won’t really compress is rough. It sounds like you want a softer pillow, not a thinner pillow that’s just as hard.
I’ve read through a handful of the reviews on that one and a pretty consistent theme is that the foam just isn’t as squishy as the listing implies. People keep saying it sits basically as stubborn and unyielding as the pillow they were trying to move away from, which kinda defeats the whole point if you’re looking for something with more give. I get the appeal of the low profile, but for someone already stuck with a rock-solid pillow, that just sounds like trading one hard thing for a slimmer hard thing.
